Welcome to Tesserae
Help your child succeed in the classroom
If your child is struggling to settle in class, follow routines, or get along with classmates, the school day can become the hardest part of everyone’s week.
Our school support puts a trained behaviour specialist in the classroom working to a programme: assessing what is actually going wrong, teaching your child the specific skills they are missing, and coaching their teachers to use the same strategies when we are not there.
What school support actually involves
We work inside your child’s school, not instead of it. Depending on what your child needs, that can look like:
- On-site behaviour support: observation in the classroom, professional recommendations on next steps, and where appropriate 1:1 or small group push-in and pull-out support within the school day.
- School transition support: intensive help as your child settles into a new school or classroom, with support deliberately fading as they find their feet.
- School readiness programmes: part-time or full-time preparation before your child starts or returns, building the foundations for taking part in class.
Every arrangement is agreed with your child’s school. We are guests in their environment, and the aim is always for your child to need us less over time.
We are experienced supporting students in
Every school runs differently, and support that ignores that does not last. We already work across all three settings in Singapore, so we arrive knowing how each one operates.
International Schools
We work within IB, British and American curricula alongside learning support teams and EAL staff, fitting around timetables that move.
MOE Schools
Local primary schools, their Allied Educators, and SENOs with support that works within class sizes, structured timetables and school protocol.
Preschools
Childcare centres and kindergartens, where much of the work is transitions, group routines, and getting ready for the move to primary school.
If your child’s school has not worked with an external behaviour specialist before, that is common, and we are used to making the introduction ourselves.
Why We Work Inside Schools
School is where your child spends most of their waking hours, and it is where new skills have to hold up. Working in the classroom itself means we can:
- Coach in real situations: transitions between lessons, lining up, carpet time and peer play, rather than rehearsing them across a table.
- Teach in the moment, when the frustration actually happens, so strategies are learned exactly where they are needed.
- Give teachers the same strategies we use, so support carries on during the hours and days we are not there.
What Changes for Your Child
These are the changes schools and families come to us for.
Join In With Classmates
From playing alongside other children to playing with them. We build the looking, listening and turn-taking that friendships are made of, then practise them with real classmates.
Cope When Plans Change
Transitions, waiting, not being first, losing a game. We teach your child what to do with the frustration so it does not come out as a meltdown in the middle of a lesson.
Follow the Class Independently
Lining up, carpet time, moving between lessons, staying with the group. The everyday routines that let your child take part without an adult beside them.
Ask for What They Need
Speech, visuals or gestures, whichever works for your child, so they can express what they want instead of biting, crying or shutting down.
Why Schools and Families Trust Us
Behaviour Specialists, Internationally Certified
Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) is the international qualification for work on behaviour and learning. Every programme here is designed and reviewed by one, and our clinical team is led by Dr. Dominic Leong, the only practicing doctoral-level BCBA (BCBA-D) in Southeast Asia.
We Already Work Inside Schools
We partner with preschools, international schools and MOE schools across Singapore. Working inside a school day is our normal, not a special arrangement.
Support Designed to Fade
We plan how support will step back from the very beginning, handing strategies to teachers as we go, so the gains hold once we are gone.
We Work With the School, Not Around It
Observations and recommendations are shared and agreed with your child’s teachers, never imposed on them. We are one part of a bigger picture.
Our Process
Reach out to us
WhatsApp, website or email, whichever feels most comfortable. We will respond within 1 working day.
Complimentary 20-min Discovery Call
A gentle conversation to understand what is happening at school and to share how we might help. No pressure, just clarity.
2 Hour Classroom Observation (If needed)
With the school’s agreement, we observe your child in their own classroom and review their strengths, needs and learning style. You receive a clear report and a practical plan.
Support Begins (If needed)
We start alongside your child in class, coach their teachers as we go, and review progress regularly, planning from day one for how support steps back.
Testimonials
What Parents and Partners Say About Us
What I appreciate most about his approach is his ability to work collaboratively with our family’s needs.
He took the time to understand our goals and concerns, and consistently provided us with feedback and strategies to support Ian’s progress. His assistance in helping Ian learn how to queue and wait nicely is just one example.
Thank you for the great work he has done with Ian. Although we are putting a stop to the therapy sessions due to other commitments, we look forward to seeing him again in the upcoming social classes.
Our son loved Stephanie and we loved how open and transparent she was with explaining how sessions with Jason went. We would highly recommend Stephanie. Finally, we wanted to inform how Stephanie is a wonderful and trustworthy professional. She deeply cares for children and is deeply passionate about bettering the lives of special needs children. Thank you for taking the time to read our testimonial.
What impressed me most was how the lessons went beyond simple social rules. They helped my child understand tone, body language, and how to adjust responses based on different situations. These are advanced conversational skills that have made a real difference in how my child interacts with peers and adults.
I have seen growth in his ability to join group discussions, maintain conversations, and show awareness of how his words can affect others
Beyond the class, our teachers also learnt so much from him, and we still use his techniques today. His guidance has helped us open more doors to make the joy of the arts accessible to every child!
Worried about how your child is coping at school?
Tell us what is going on in the classroom. If school support is the right route, we will explain how we would approach it. If your child would be better served another way, we will tell you that too.

A 20-minute call with one of our BCBAs. Tell us what is happening at school and we will talk through the options, including whether we are the right fit at all.
